Chocoholic's Delight

As I had mentioned yesterday, I decided to make some ice cream, and resorted to my favourite ice cream book, Vice Cream. I made the Chocoholic's Delight (for some reason, I feel like I've made this before...ah, I just checked my photo file and I did make this recipe, but without the chocolate chips). I made a sub for the purified water, and used organic chocolate soymilk instead for extra creaminess and chocolate flavour! My new blender did a much better job at pulverizing the raw cashews than my food processor did.

I just realized that I don't have a snack for this week at work (somehow bringing in my ice cream seems a little impractical). I saw somewhere that someone made a banana split loaf from Vegan Planet, so I'm going to check the recipe and hope I have all of the ingredients or come up with a recipe of my own that incorporates the browning bananas on my counter and homemade freezer jam that I made.

Looks so creamy and smooth! We just had homemade cookies and cream ice cream tonight for dessert. Those meatballs in the previous post look so realistic it's kind of freaky!

Yum - cookies and cream!!!

Yeah, I guess the photo does look like that. I'm not into imposter meat products or anything, but they didn't taste like meat or like those commercial 'meat' products out there. They're so good and tasty 'seitan-y' and not beefy :)

Whoa - this looks too good to be true! Did you use a vitamix to get it so smooth?

What kind of blender do you have? My blender is so useless for anything but liquids... it's infuriating.
I need a good blender tip!

enjoy your ice cream!

That looks simply amazing.

I also want to know what blender you have- I'm in the market for a new one, and want to find a powerful one for nuts and ice and such things.

I don't have a Vitamix, but my mom just bought me a Cuisinart blender (Smart Power, 7-speed). It did a really good job on the cashews, but I have not yet tried ice. I'll be sure to report the results of a smoothie trial!

I read in an America's Test Kitchen cookbook that their trials indicated that the Braun Powermax was the best blender out there, so that might be another to check out.
